YCare International thanks DSMT for eight years’ support for programmes for young women at the Jericho Vocational Training Centre

DSMT has been supporting the Jericho Vocational Training Centre since 2007, through Ycare International, the international arm of the YMCA. Following our decision to focus from 2015-16 on our scholarship programmes with Dar El Tifl School we will sadly no longer be working with the Jericho VTC.

“Since 2007 Dominic Simpson Memorial trust has kindly supported the Jericho Vocational Training Centre in Jericho run by the Easy Jerusalem YMCA, in collaboration with Y Care International. Through these eight years, DSMT has contributed with a total of £140,295 (including £17,588 contribution in 2008-2009 towards a project funded by the European Union) to cover the vocational training of more than 170 young girls on Accounting, English, Administration, Office Management and IT literacy; thanks to this support an average of 245 young women have also received in-job training, enhancing their employability as well as their confidence to seek for a job”. We wish everyone at the VTC the very best for the future, and especially we hope for a speedy return to health for the exceptional director, Ismail Hamden.
